Hi, I'm Emily. I'm a textile maker from Lancashire who works mostly on interior and furnishing projects. After studying Textile Craft at university, I worked at famous embroiderers, Hand & Lock, and then both the fabrics department and Visual Merchandising team of Liberty London. More recently, I joined the small crocheting team at luxury lighting studio, Naomi Paul. I describe my work as colourful and unpredictable, with a focus on slow, mindful making. 

I craft and create soft furnishings and thoughtful products for the home. Blending traditional or revived upholstery techniques with vibrant and colourful prints, each piece is handmade in my Somerset studio. 

Forever inspired by colour and print, I almost exclusively source and work with vintage and second hand textiles which compliment midcentury furniture, adding a touch of nostalgia to any room. I use British wool as a topper for my 'french mattress'-style cushions and I am passionate about sourcing sustainable materials where possible. I am part of a flax growing community project and textile reuse network in Frome, which inspires and challenges the sustainability within my practice.

Alongside my projects for the home, I make props and soft furnishings for interior photoshoots and have sewn for magazines such as House Beautiful, Homes and Garden and Elle Decoration and for brands such as Ruggable, Fanfare Label and Pure Fine Fabrics. 

When not sewing, I spend my time swimming (the colder the better!) and taking my lurcher Leonard for long walks in Somerset with my husband Jamie.
